Chocolate Chip Banana Scones
CDKitchen https://www.cdkitchen.com
Serves/Makes: 8    |   Ready In: < 30 minutes

Ingredients:
1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup quick-cooking oats
1 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
6 tablespoons cold butter, cut in pieces
1/2 cup mashed banana
1/3 cup buttermilk
1 cup chocolate chips
granulated sugar, as needed

Directions:
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Grease a baking sheet.

Combine the flour, oats, baking powder, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt in a large mixing bowl. Add the butter and cut into the flour mixture using a pastry blender.

Mix together the banana and buttermilk until smooth. Stir into the flour mixture. Stir in the chocolate chips, mixing the dough just until moistened. Knead the dough 10 times, then turn it out onto a lightly floured work surface.

Pat the dough into a 6-inch circle. Sprinkle the dough lightly with sugar then cut it into 6-8 wedges. Place the wedges 1-inch apart on the baking sheet.

Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake at 425 degrees F for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned.

Remove the scones from the oven and let cool on a wire rack. Store the scones in an airtight container.
