Ingredients: 1/2 pound ground beef 1/2 cup chopped yellow onion 2 cloves garlic, minced vegetable oil, as needed 1/2 teaspoon salt freshly ground black pepper, to taste 1 pizza crust (12-inch size), premade or purchased 3/4 cup tomato salsa 2 cups grated pepper jack cheese, divided 1 cup sliced black olives 1 avocado, peeled, pitted and sliced
Directions: Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
In a large skillet over medium heat, combine beef, onion and garlic and saute, breaking up meat with a spoon, until meat is browned and vegetables are tender, about 5 minutes. Add a little oil if needed. Season with salt and pepper.
Place crust on a pizza pan or baking sheet. Spread crust with salsa to 1/2 inch from the edge. Sprinkle with half of the cheese. Add meat mixture and remaining cheese. Scatter olives over the top.
Bake until crust is crisp and topping is bubbly, about 10 minutes. Transfer to a cutting board and, using a pizza-cutting wheel or sharp knife, slice into wedges.
Garnish with avocado slices.
