ingredients
1 cup shortening
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 cup coconut
directions
Mix shortening and sugar until creamy, then add egg.
Sift all dry ingredients together. Add to shortening mixture. Roll dough into small balls and dip into water, then into brown sugar.
Put on cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees F for 15 minutes.
