Country Molasses Pie

ingredients
Crumbs
1 tablespoon butter
3/4 cup flour
1/2 cup sugar
Filling
1/4 cup water, boiling
1/4 cup molasses
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 pie pastry
directions
For Crumbs: Mix the crumb ingredients together using the hands, and pinching mixture until very fine.
For Filling: Add the water to the molasses and soda and beat until this is foamy and rises.
Pour this into a pie pan lined with pastry (a deep pan is preferable) and taking a spoon, mix the crumbs well into the molasses filling.
Bake at 325 degrees F for 30 minutes.
