ingredients
2 cans refried beans with green chilies
2 pounds ground beef
1 cup chopped onion
1 package taco seasoning mix
2 large jars mild salsa
1 small jar hot salsa
1 package tortilla chips
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
3 cups sour cream
chopped lettuce
2 chopped tomatoes
green onions
directions
Brown hamburger with chopped onion. Drain. Add taco seasoning.
Layer refried beans at bottom of oblong pan followed by browned hamburger mix. Next mix the jars of salsa and pour over hamburger. Spread on top of that the shredded cheese, and then the sour cream.
Chop the lettuce fine and sprinkle on top of the sour cream leaving a large hole in the middle. The chopped tomatoes go inside the hole, still leaving room for the chopped green onions. Serve with the tortilla chips.

Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.
