1 cup flour, sifted, PLUS"PLUS" means this ingredient in addition to the one on the next line, often with divided uses
2 teaspoons flour, sifted
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/3 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 teaspoon very hot water
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Grease baking sheets with vegetable oil.
Sift flour, baking soda and salt on wax paper. Beat butter, sugar and egg in large bowl until fluffy, about 3 minutes. Beat in hot water and vanilla extract. Gradually beat in flour mixture until blended and smooth.
Drop dough by well rounded teaspoonsful on prepared baking sheets. Bake until golden, about 10 minutes. Cool on sheets on wire rack to cool completely.

These were just as good as normal chocolate chip cookies, but they were still a huge hit with my family!

These were yummy! I made them with salted butter and they turned out perfectly. I also used bittersweet chips instead....yum.
