Valerie Whitmore is a true foodie pioneer. Her website, CDKitchen.com, has been around longer than all but one of the major food sites. Started in 1995 as her hobby, CDKitchen grew to become a longtime top twenty food site, competing online with television food channels, cooking magazines, and celebrity chefs!
Her passion is home cooking and recipes by and for home cooks everywhere! In fact, she's prepared a different recipe every night for the last eleven years! Valerie is a member of culinary professional organizations such as the James Beard Foundation and the IACP (International Association of Culinary Professionals). She has been interviewed in the Los Angeles Times, the Minneapolis StarTribune, the Quad-City Times, the Richmond Times-Dispatch and others.
Yet she welcomes both regular home cooks and trained chefs alike to interact with her on her Facebook page, to read about her cooking adventures, her spotted sous chefs (the Dalmatians, Widget and Browser), and the challenges of running such a huge website! See photos of Valerie in action, her picks of top recipes and more! While you're at it, "like" CDKitchen on Facebook too, for recipes, cooking games, and other foodie fun.
And Valerie is more than just a foodie. She's also responsible for all the site design and coding. CDK is not a pre-fab, out-of-a-box kind of website. What you see is 100% custom coded by Valerie herself (and she's completely self taught!)
